Outreach

The United Methodist Book of Discipline defines the Outreach ministries as those serving local and larger community ministries of compassion, justice, and advocacy. These ministries include church and society, global ministries, higher education and campus ministry, health and welfare, Christian unity and inter-religious concerns, religion and race, and the status and role of women.

The Christian walk is, by nature, socially conscious - reflecting the love of God requires action on the part of a believer. At Belden we serve both locally and globally, with the help of our members and the larger United Methodist Church.

Local Missions

We support many local missions efforts on an ongoing basis, in addition to special short-term projects. Some current and past examples are Love, Inc., Salvation Army, Street Ministry.

And Beyond...

Beyond our local area we are part of a connection that unites United Methodist churches across the globe in ways that touch our church, the churches in surrounding communities, and extend to our district, conference and every other district and conference around the world.

Shared Ministry Giving allows our church family to pool resources with other small and large churches throughout our district and throughout the country to make a difference globally through UMC General Funds and UMCOR.

In addition, we also join hands in service with other denominations and through this work, continue the work of building God's Kingdom. We do this at Belden through additional missionary support through World Gospel Mission, Campus Crusade for Christ, and Buses International.
